Knesset to Vote on Channel 10 Extension

The Knesset will vote Wednesday on the first reading of a bill that would extend the current franchise of Channel 10 for its current holders. The bill was approves Sunday morning by the Ministerial Law Committee, after it was first proposed by Mks Carmel Shama (Likud) and Nachman Shai (Kadima).

Under the bill, the current holders of the Channel 10 franchise would continue to hold it until 2012. Ministers opposing the bill included Sofa Landver and Yitzchak Aharonovich (Yisrael Beiteinu), Yossi Peled and Yaakov Neeman (Likud) and Daniel Hershkovitz (Jewish Home)
