Iran: Bahai 'Spies' to be Tried 'Soon'

Iranian news sources said Sunday that Tehran would "soon" try seven members of the Bahai faith who were accused of spying for Israel, and of "blasphemy." Six of the defendants were arrested in May 2008, and the seventh was arrested last February. They have been held without trial until now. Their trial was to have opened in October, but it was postponed by an Iranian court.

The seven could receive the death penalty if convicted.
