Court: Gush Katif Jews were 'Expelled'

The High Court of Justice has ruled that the use of the term "expulsion" is a legitimate description of what happened to the Jewish residents of Gush Katif , who were forced out of their Gaza area homes in 2005. The panel of judges said, however, that commercials about the Gush Katif Museum must be made informative without getting into political issues.

The Israel Broadcast Authority had refused to air a commercial advertising the museum that used the word "expulsion" to describe the forced eviction of nearly 10,000 Jews from their homes in Gush Katif and northern Samaria (Shomron).
