The Health Ministry changed the definition of deaths caused by the swine flu and ruled Thursday to include fatal cases in which it wasn’t clear whether the swine flu caused complications and the victim’s eventual death. The ruling comes after the death Tuesday of a 12-year-old girl who was diagnosed with swine flu. She later died from heart failure. It is unclear whether her death was caused by the swine flu. According to the Ministry’s new definition, she will be considered as having died from the swine flu.
Due to the change in defining mortalities, the number of deaths in Israel from the swine flu has risen to four.
