An art exhibit dedicated to rituals in Jewish life will be hosted by the Jewish Museum in New York. "Reinventing Ritual: Contemporary Art and Design for Jewish Life" opens September 13 and will run through February 7.

The exhibit will feature nearly 60 works produced by artists between 1999 and 2009.

Various media presented will include architecture, video, drawing, metalwork, jewelry, ceramics, comics and sculpture, and are used to show the "intersections of creative freedom and Jewish life," according to a statement released by the museum. Most of the 56 artists are American and Israeli, with a smaller number of Europeans and South Americans.
