For the first time since the Holocaust, one hundred cantors will perform in Warsaw, once a center of Jewish life in Poland. The concert is to take place Tuesday in the Grand Opera, less than a half kilometer from the Tlomackie Synagogue, which was destroyed by the Nazis.
“This will be a symbolic, historic event, because prior to the Holocaust, Warsaw was a world center of cantorial culture,” Rabbi Michael Schudrich told Reuters.
