Shalit Deal Fell Over Five Terrorists

The deal to free kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit fell through because Israel refused to release five terrorists, according to London based Arab paper Al-Hayat. In addition, Hamas opposed Israel’s demand to expel 90 of the released prisoners from Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

The five prisoners Israel refused to release according to the paper were: Ahmed Saadat, former secretary of PFLP and responsible for planning the murder of Minister Rehavam Ze’evi, Ibrahim Khaled, former Hamas military chief in Judea and Samaria, Abdallah Barghouti, former senior Hamas terrorist in Judea and Samaria, Khassan Salamah, former Hamas senior Hamas terrorist in Gaza, and Amunah Monah, who convinced Israeli youth Ofir Rachum to meet her through the internet before murdering him.
