The Israeli based Netafim irrigation firm has won a contract worth approximately $150 million to supply equipment to a 750,000-acre sugar cane plantation in Brazil, Globes reported. Netafim, based on a kibbutz by the same name, operates a subsidiary in Brazil. Netafim also will supply advisors and engineers for the first stage of the $900 million project.
Last week, Netafim signed a $22 million contract for supply equipment for a sugar cane plantation in Peru. Both plantations produce crops for electricity and ethanol.
