Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman said this week that his party wants to increase monthly child payments. Payments should go up beginning with the second child born to each family, he said. The statement was made in an interview with Russian-language Israeli media.
Lieberman explained that unlike hareidi-religious parties, his party wishes to increase child payments for the majority of Israeli parents and not only those with four or more children. Responding to questions on Yisrael Beiteinu's change in policy – the party formerly opposed an increase in child payments – a spokesman said, “Yisrael Beiteinu's policy has not changed, but the financial reality has.”
