Knesset Member Dr. Aryeh Eldad (National Union party) charged Thursday morning that the High Court is an extension of the Meretz party. He lashed out at the court's decision Wednesday to reverse a Knesset Elections Committee ruling that barred two Arab parties from running for re-election.

The National Union party backed by almost all other parties except for Meretz, supported the move to bar the parties because of anti-Israel statements.

The court in effect "gave permission to [former MK Azmi] Bishara to lead his party "via telephones and video conferences from outside the country." Bishara, while he was a Member of the Knesset, fled the country before he was indicted in absentia for allegedly selling information to Hizbullah during the Second Lebanon War.
