Dozens of protesters held an angry riot outside the home and office of lawyer and Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi in Teheran on Thursday. Rioters accused Ebadi of supporting Israel and defaced the building, bringing down the sign for her office, even though she had come out against Israel's counterterror operation in Gaza.
Ebadi is known for her work on behalf of human rights and democracy in Iran. She has frequently faced harassment for going against government policy.
The Iranian government has closed down a newspaper that ran a student article with a pro-Israeli slant on Hamas activity in Gaza. For the full story click here.
