Volunteers from the National Citizens’ Service are working in the western Negev and in communities bordering Gaza in an emergency project to assist the rocket-afflicted residents. The volunteers will do various tasks, such as keeping children occupied, preparing bomb shelters, and assisting citizens with special needs.

The activities will be performed with the directives of the local government authorities and coordinated with the Home Front. On Tuesday, a coordination session will take place in which the local authorities’ needs will be prioritized.

The National Citizens' Service, a branch of the Prime Minister's Office, was founded in 2007.
