Olmert Denies American Advice against Attacking Iran

Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told reporters in Washington that no one in the Bush administration "advised me or any of my official representatives not to take any action that we will deem necessary for the fundamental security of the state of Israel, and that includes Iran." He also did not relate to reports that Israel was considering striking Iran's nuclear facility.

He spoke following a farewell meeting his United States President George W. Bush, who will be succeeded on January 20 by President-elect Barack Obama.
