One of Osama Bin Laden's 19 children, Omar, Monday night flew into Madrid, Spain, and requested asylum. Omar Bin Laden is 27-years-old, and claims to want to become an ambassador for peace between Islam and the west. He was waiting at the Madrid Airport Tuesday while the request was being processed. Spain's ministry has 72 hours to decide. He would have a right of appeal.
This is the son who was widely reported for marrying a 51-year-old British woman, who changed her name to an Arabic sounding one. She told the associated press that England had denied Omar asylum and explained that it would not be "conducive to the public good." An officer from the British consulate said that statements Bin Laden made to the media indicated that he was still loyal to his father.
