In Jerusalem Saturday night thousands of Hasidim from the Belz sect rallied in support of Rabbi Meir Porush in the race for Mayor of Jerusalem, according to Yeshiva World News. Porush is the only hareidi-religious candidate among the Jerusalem contenders this race.

The hareidi-religious public is somewhat divided over Porush, and some Torah leaders seem to quietly not consider Porush fit for the post.
