A Jerusalem District Court has ruled that Russian-born tycoon Arcadi Gaydamak may use his foreign language name, "Arcadi Gaydamak," on his election ballots for the Jerusalem Mayoralty race.

Gaydamak had petitioned the court in the matter after the Central Election Committee refused to allow him to use that name. The Committee insisted that only his Hebrew name, "Aryeh Bar-Lev," be used.

Since hardly anyone knows him by that name, it would have likely decreased greatly the amount of votes he would have received.
