The Supreme Court will hear a plea from the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel on Sunday demanding that Vice Premier Chaim Ramon return money to the state. Ramon received a salary for several months while he was on trial for forcibly kissing a female soldier. “The public does not need to give Ramon a salary for the time in which he did not come to work and did not fulfill his obligations to the community,” argued Legal Forum attorney Yitzchak Bam.
Ramon should be treated as any other worker who did not perform his duties for several months and should not receive pay, Bam said. Ramon was eventually convicted of forcibly kissing the soldier and returned to the government to serve as vice premier.
