Arab, Jewish MKs Trade Charges of Pogrom in Akko

(IsraelNN.com) Knesset Member Prof. Aryeh Eldad (National Union) and Arab MK Ahmed Tibi traded charges of a pogrom in the Yom Kippur eve riots in Akko. Tibi said that the violence was a "pogrom perpetrated by Jews against Arab residents." He charged that the police discriminated against Arab residents during its reaction to the riots.

 

MK Eldad stated, "One should not be surprised if Jews take up arms to defend themselves while the police do nothing to protect them."
