World Likud head Danny Danon sent a message to Shas head Eli Yishai and Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef on Thursday, warning them to beware of joining a coalition led by Kadima's new leader, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Livni will agree to split Jerusalem with the Palestinian Authority even if she promises otherwise, he warned.

“Kadima has a tradition of not keeping its promises,” Danon said. “Sharon carried out the Disengagement despite his promises, Olmert negotiated over Jerusalem despite his promises, and Tzipi Livni will follow in their footsteps.” Shas leaders have suggested that the party will join a coalition led by Livni if Livni promises to raise child payments and keep all of Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty.
