Gaydamak: I Would Lie In the Road to Prevent Gay Parade

Jerusalem mayoral candidate Arcadi Gaydamak told reporters on Monday that he would lie on the road and risk death to prevent a homosexual parade from taking place in Israel's capital city.  Speaking at the central Bikur Cholim Hospital, which he owns, the Russian-Israeli business tycoon said that though homosexuals are part of society and must be accepted, a gay parade should not be held in a city which Gaydamak said is holy to the three major world religions.

Gaydamak also criticized Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski for selling out his personal beliefs – that a gay parade should not be held in Jerusalem – in return for political gain.

In regard to impending Jerusalem elections, Gaydamak said that voters should keep in mind that he bought the Beitar Jerusalem soccer team, Bikur Cholim Hospital and other assets important to Jerusalem, telling the voters to consider actions over words when making their choice at the ballot.
