Iran's Top Mullah Stands By His Man

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday for "standing up to the West" in the dispute over the Islamist country's nuclear program.

Iran state TV quoted Khamenei as saying that Ahmadinejad's government has helped "revive" the values of the 1979 Islamic revolution.

According to the Associated Press, he was also quoted as saying that "some bullying countries ... wanted to impose their will on Iran (over the nuclear issue) ... but the president stood up to them."
