Livni Warns Syria against Destabilizing Middle East

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni warned Syrian President Bashar Assad Thursday against placing long-range Russian missiles in Syria. "It is in nobody's interest to destabilize the region," she stated, adding that the weapons could fall into "dangerous" hands, meaning Hizbullah.

"It is a mutual interest of Russia, of Israel and of the pragmatic leaders and states in the region not to send long-range missiles to Syria," said the Foreign Minister, who is leading in the Kadima leadership primaries polls.
