U.S. Radar To Israel Defend against Iranian Missiles

The United States will provide Israel with a radar system that can detect and track missile and rocket attacks and will help Israel's defense in the event of an attack from Iran, American media reported. Defense Minister Ehud Barak visiting the U.S. this week, said that the new system will be operating within a year.

Pentagon officials told CNN the agreement includes the sharing of U.S. early warning launch data as well as technical and monetary assistance. The system also will help Israel defend itself against short-range rockets.
The advanced technology can distinguish between real missiles and dummies.
