Professor Elihu Richter chided the Israeli public on Monday for not taking seriously the risk of cell phone radiation. His comments came a day after the Health Ministry posted guidelines for cell phone use on its website.
Richter, a top expert in electromagnetic radiation and former head of the occupational and environmental medicine department of the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Public Health and Community Medicine, has warned Israelis for years about the dangers of radiation coming from cellular phones, particularly to children, who have thinner skulls.
The professor released his statements as part of a push to obtain an official warning on cell phone usage from the Health Ministry.
