Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Friday that "in the past few days we are again witnessing an attack upon the law enforcement authorities."

"I want to warn all of us that the prosecution, the police and the courts are vital systems for any democracy and our supreme responsibility is to preserve their independence and freedom of action," Barak told a gathering of female Labor activists.
