Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann said Sunday that the government's decision to authorize State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss to look into the Ramon wiretaps was "a partial step towards placing the law-enforcement system under external supervision."
"The government of Israel," he said, "established today that it is not enough to hold internal investigations like the ones that were carried out in the past by the police, the prosecution, the Attorney-General or whomever he appointed."
