Residents of the northern and western Negev voiced their anger Sunday after the Ministries of Transport and Finance decided to cancel the train line between Ashkelon and Beersheva due to budgetary considerations.
The chairman of Merhavim district, Avner Mori, said that the decision showed the government's "flawed set of priorities, which effectively leaves the periphery outside the country's borders."
