The Ministry of Tourism proudly letting be known that the State of Israel saw more tourists this past month than in any previous month. The Ministry of Tourism reports that nearly 300,000 tourists visited Israel last month. That is five percent more than in May 2000, which was the year with the most tourism to date.

At this rate, the ministry expects 2.8 million tourists will visit by the end of the year.

Director General Shaul Tzemach will lead a meeting next week considering a goal of bringing 3.3 million tourists in 2009.
