Sarkozy Invites Olmert and Assad to Paris
(IsraelNN.com) French President Nicolas Sarkozy has invited both Syrian President Bashar Assad and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to a Mediterranean Union convention in Paris July 13. The Prime Minister already has accepted the invitation "in principle." Assad has not responded.
Sarkozy has been trying to improve relations with Syria and is currently hosting the Syrian culture minister, the first visit to France by a Syrian government member in three years.
