The University of Haifa will grant an honorary doctorate degree to former Hadassah President June Walker on Wednesday. She also chairs the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
The university is citing her concept of tikkun olam (repairing the world) and her leadership and work for Israel. Walker holds academic degrees in chemistry, respiratory therapy and public health administration and has been active in medical volunteer groups. She served as National President of Hadassah, an organization with over 300,000 members, from 2003-2007.
