Palestinian Authority (PA) guards have arrested a man who allegedly carried an envelope of poison intended to be used to murder PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, according to the Bethlehem-based Maan news agency. The man arrived in Fayyad's office when the guards discovered the envelope.

Sources said that the guards were hospitalized for a rash that broke out after they opened the envelope and later were discharged. The envelope was sent to a laboratory for tests.
