Protests against the government's plan to remove an IDF checkpoint at the "sheep junction" at the southern entrance to Hebron are continuing Monday, with dozens of local residents blocking the intersection that has been a flash point for terror attacks in the past.
The government agreed to remove the roadblock as a "confidence building" gesture to Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen. Local residents say opening the road to unfettered Arab traffic will also increase terrorists’ access to Jewish towns.
