"The terror organizations are damaging their nation. They are destroying Lebanon and preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state," President Shimon Peres said Sunday. "Hamas has missiles but it has no future," he added, and said: "Sderot and Kfar Aza are targets for Hamas missiles. It may take a while but we will reach a future devoid of missile threats," he said.
Peres was speaking before a group of Israelis who were assembled at the Presidential Residence because they were all born on 5 Iyar 1948 – the date of the establishment of the Jewish State.
"We have overcome strong forces when it seemed that they were insurmountable," Peres said. "That is what happened when you were born. That is how it will be for the children of the future." The enemies, he added, "will be surprised by our ability."
