'Olmert and Zaken Suspected of Pocketing Bribes'

(IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his longtime Bureau Chief Shula Zaken are suspected of pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars that were received from Morris Talansky, according to news site Nfc. The site claims that the amounts received totaled "at least" hundreds of thousands of dollars and that their sources were the Jewish congregations in the U.S. as well as anonymous donors.

Nfc said that the last payments from Talansky were received in 2005, and that some of them were filed as "reimbursement for expenses." The site added that Olmert and Zaken are suspected of breaking the Party Financing Law, falsification of corporate documents, receiving bribes and tax fraud.
