Maj.-Gen. Shimon Koren, Commander of the Northern District, and Brig.-Gen. Zohar Dvir, Commander of HaAmakim Region, were among the policemen wounded in Thursday's clash with a seditious Arab crowd led by Arab Knesset Members.

MK Wasel Taha (Balad) said a plainclothes police officer hit him and his son: "It all happened when I tried to distance the police and calm things down," he told Ynet. "I saw a policeman from the corner of my eye. He was not in uniform [but] in civilian garb. But I imagine that he was one of theirs, who tried hard to reach me and eventually succeeded. I got three hard blows to the head from him. I was immediately evacuated to a hospital." Taha claimed that his son was also hit by the man, and added: "I remember that man's face well."

Police say that the Arab marchers wanted to carry out a provocation and engaged in "wild incitement."
