Attorney General Menachem Mazuz met with senior police officials on Thursday evening to discuss the gag order on the latest investigation against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Israeli media outlets have not been allowed to publicize the accusations against Olmert for the past several days, despite the fact that foreign media and online blogs have continued to do so.
Police expressed support for the gag order earlier in the week, arguing that they needed to maintain secrecy in order to prevent suspects from coordinating their testimonies. Police are expected to agree to a partial removal of the gag order on Thursday.
