Police Wounded in Clash with Arab Youth

(IsraelNN.com) Several police officers were lightly wounded on Thursday afternoon in a clash with hundreds of young Arab men near the town of Tzippori in the central Galilee.  The Arabs, who were mourning the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Israel, began rioting and throwing rocks following a rally in the area.

Police closed Highway 79 during the riot, and reopened it shortly after the riot was quelled.  Several rioters were arrested.
