N.Y. Times Adds More Details on Silenced Olmert Probe
(IsraelNN.com) The New York Times has divulged more details on the latest investigation of possible illegal activities by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The probe is under a judicial gag order, but details revealed earlier this week in the New York Post and now in the Times will be factors in the possible lifting of the gag order on Friday. Virtually every media outlet in Israel has referred readers and listeners to the New York sources, enabling anyone with Internet to know the details.
The Israeli court has allowed media to publicize the fact that the investigation concerns collecting testimony from a foreign national.
