Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik addressed the central Independence Day ceremony at Har Herzl in Jerusalem Wednesday evening and closed her speech with some words of warning for Israel's enemies.
She mentioned Osher Tuito of Sderot, the child who lost his leg in a terror rocket attack "but keeps on laughing," and said: "To our enemies, the people of terror, I say: 'as long as we have one Osher Tuito among us, you don't stand a chance.' And I also say to the people of terror, we want peace, we seek peace for our children and also want your children's peace, [but] our children will know the deeds of war well if there is a need for it."
"The State of Israel," she said earlier in the speech, "is an extraordinary success story. It is a wonder by any historic standard. A miracle did not happen to us. We built this wonderful enterprise with our own hands. There are richer countries than Israel and certainly quieter ones, there are larger ones, but there is none like the state of Israel," she said.
