Muhammad El-Baradei, who heads the UN nuclear watchdog agency IAEA, announced Wednesday that the agency hopes to shed light on what went on in the Syrian facility which was bombed last September.
"I hope that in the coming weeks we will be able to shed light on the nature of the facility that was destroyed," El-Baradei said. He added that the agency's staff were in touch with the Syrian government and added that "Syria has a commitment to inform the agency if they are building or were building a nuclear plant."
El-Baradei criticized the U.S. and Israel last month because they did not inform the IAEA of the intelligence information that they possessed which showed Syria was building a nuclear plant at the desert location which was bombed.
