Army soldiers escaped injury Tuesday night when wanted terrorists set off an explosive device as the IDF was carrying out arrests of wanted terrorists. Eight people were rounded up in the Shechem and Hevron areas.

The Palestinian Authority recently deployed several hundred armed and American-trained policemen in Shechem to show that it is able to control terrorism and maintain law and order. However, the policemen do not operate at night, and the IDF frequently carries out counterterrorist operations at night in the city.
