Several days after Palestinian Authority officials said they had made a "deal" with Gaza terrorists to temporarily halt the firing of Kassam rockets at Israeli targets, four missiles hit Sderot, one of them striking a home and sending six people to the hospital for treatment of shock.

--Finance Minister Avraham Hirschson plans to temporarily step down from his position during the investigations against him. Police announced that they have enough evidence to try Hirschson, who is accused of embezzling funds from the Histradut national labor union. Police suspect that approximately 10 million shekels were stolen from the union over the past few years by top officials, including Hirschson. 

--A request by President Moshe Katzav to extend his self-suspension until July 1 was approved by the Knesset House Committee in a vote of 11-4. Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik has been Acting President since President Katzav began his self-imposed exile from the post three months ago, pending the result of an investigation on allegations of rape and other sexual assault. The extension will continue until the end of his term in office. 

--Arab Israel Knesset Member Azmi Bishara, who has fled the country to Egypt and is under investigation by Israeli authorities, will resign from his post.
