Homesh First: IDF Purposely Breaks Sabbath to Evict Us Reported: 11:53 AM - Apr/18/08
(IsraelNN.com) The Homesh First organization responded to an interview given by IDF Chief Rabbi Avichai Ronsky in which he said that the IDF has not violated the Sabbath in its eviction of Jews from Homesh, but has operated out of security concerns, which is permitted on the Jewish day of rest. “We have much respect for Rav Ronsky, but he also knows that there occurred much desecration of the Sabbath in the past half-year, deliberate and aimed precisely, used as a punishment to attack the ‘soft underbelly’ of the expellees who are returning home to the town of Homesh.” The Homesh First statement continued: “The situation today is that operation against the people of Homesh conclude exactly with the onset of the Sabbath, with the security forces making their way back on Sabbath. It should also be noted that the eviction of the people of Homesh specifically on Sabbaths and holidays due to claims of ‘pikuach nefesh’ (saving of lives) is laughable. The people of Homesh have returned home and have been there for nine months now. Nobody considers evicting people from Tel Aviv every time there is a terror alert.” Homesh was destroyed along with three other towns in northern Samaria as part of the 2005 Disengagement. “The nation of Israel will return completely to Homesh, Sa-Nur and the rest of the communities that were so maliciously uprooted,” the Homesh pioneers concluded. ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
