Dvir Forbidden to Visit Sick Grandfather (IsraelNN.com) Shlomi Dvir, who is serving 15 years in prison for his part in a plot to bomb an Arab school, has been forbidden to visit his grandfather in the hospital. Dvir’s grandfather is ill and is in serious condition. While most Israeli prisoners are granted vacation rights and are occasionally granted leave for family emergencies, Dvir and co-conspirator Ofer Gamliel have not been granted such rights because the Shabak (General Security Service) complains that the two are hiding information on Jewish underground groups. The two deny the charge. Dvir recently gave an interview to Channel 2 news in which he discouraged individual Jews from taking revenge for the murder of eight yeshiva students in Jerusalem. Revenge is a national task, and private individuals who seek revenge will only cause harm, he said. ![]() Sign up to receive the Daily Israel Report by email (Free) © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
