'Lights Out' in Tel Aviv for One Hour (IsraelNN.com) Environmental groups are promoting one hour of "lights out" in Tel Aviv Thursday night to demonstrate the need to save energy. Another 19 cities around the world are staging similar actions. Electricity demand in Israel increases four percent a year while capacity is almost at a standstill. However, Israel Electric Corp. workers still retain the privilege of free electricity in their houses with a limit of not surpassing double the national average electric bill. ![]() Sign up to receive the Daily Israel Report by email (Free) © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
