Deaf Receive Color Red Warning Buttons

The Home Front Command has distributed more than 150 buzzers in Ashkelon to people who are deaf or whose hearing is deficient, allowing them to receive warnings of imminent terrorist rocket attacks. The buzzer operates only in areas that are under rocket threats, said Home Front Command official Lt. Col. Uri Peretz. Similar buzzers have been distributed to Sderot residents.

A test siren will be heard throughout Ashkelon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to test the Color Red system, which now will give residents 30 seconds to run for cover instead of the previous 15 seconds. In Netivot, the test siren will sound at 9:30 a.m.
