Visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, accompanied by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, is touring the Yad VaShem Holocaust Museum and Memorial at this hour. During her visit to Israel, she plans to speak to the Knesset in German, but several Knesset Members have threatened to walk out in protest of the use of language associated with the Nazi regime.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier also is in Israel and will meet Monday with his counterpart Tzipi Livni.
