The US dollar hit an 11-year low on Thursday, dropping to NIS 3.4005 by the afternoon. The Bank of Israel set the day's closing rate for the dollar at 3.4030, a drop for the day of 2.269 percent.

The euro also lost ground, to NIS 5.2363. It rallied and officially closed the day at 5.2949. 

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) suffered losses, with the TA-25 falling 3.23 percent to 1028.02 points. The TA-100 fell 3.32 percent to 946.02 points. The Tel-Tech lost 5.13 percent, dropping to 230.02 points.
