Another wave of snow is expected to start falling in the next hour in Jerusalem and the southern hills, with lesser amounts in the north, according to the Israel Meteorological Service. The snow is expected to taper off in the afternoon, but freezing temperatures at night will leave the roads extremely dangerous. Up to 20 inches of snow was measured in several areas in Samaria, and 5-15 inches fell in Jerusalem, Gush Etzion, Hevron, the southern Hevron Hills and Mitzpeh Ramon.
Snow also fell in the Golan Heights as far south as Katzrin and in places where it is a rarity, including Carmel, near Haifa, and Arad.
Schools are closed in Jerusalem, Tzfat, Gush Etzion, Kiryat Arba, the Southern Hevron Hills, Kochav Yaakov, Mevasseret Tzion and in the Binyamin Regional Council.
