(IsraelNN.com) MK Yoel Hasson (Kadima), who is considered a close confidante of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, said Wednesday that the Winograd report proves that "the campaign of mudslinging and de-legitimization against the Prime Minister was an illegitimate personal attack."

"The opposition members have to ask for his forgiveness," Hasson said. "Ehud Barak has to show responsibility, remain in his position, and lead the country forward for many more years, together with us."

Hasson added: "The report's conclusions are clear and straightforward, and they determine that the war is not a failure and that the decisions regarding the final operation were reasonable and rational."
